Booking at the Waterfront

2008/11/26
It's time to say goodbye. My last week has arrived and I still had some thinks to do. For Friday I planned to invite my host family to a diner. But to find a good restaurant wasn't that easy. I wanted to get a good view. It should also be easily reachable from our flat, as we otherwise had the problem of travel. So there was only the Waterfront left, as we could take the bus to and a taxi back. That's why I went with Israel, Danielas Sambian boyfriend to the Waterfront on Wednesday and tried to find a restaurant. Israel had worked at several restaurants at the Waterfront before, so he navigated me from one restaurant to the next. We found one restaurant, where the prices were fine, but it was fully booked already. Others were to expensive or you needed a dress code.
Harbor Sunset Boat Trip

2008/11/27
It was only fifteen minutes before we, Minélle and I, wanted to meet for the harbour boat trip. The meeting point was the part of the Berlin wall, which is situated at the entrance of the Waterfront. I took the minibus again and when I was dropped I recognized that I got a SMS. "I was just wandering, when we meet for today ..." was the message, I got from Minélle. She hadn't got my message about the time and place from yesterday. Well, I called her and she ran to the car and managed to arrive 20 minutes later; despite the rush hour. We reached our boat nearly in the last minute and had still to breath hard, than the boat started.
The boat trip was more relaxing. We were sitting in front of boat and were enjoying the time on the boat very much. Firstly, the boat took us along the coast northern to the area called Table View. Than it turned and arrived exactly at the best sunset time at Greenpoint and Miller's Point lighthouse.
Actually the week is not at its end but my website requires a new site. So lets continue there.

The view was fantastic but the wind was awfully cold. We got some blankets from the captain as we hadn't enough jackets with. After the trip we went to the Primi Piatti to warm up and to get some food.
We ordered both the same pizza but I ordered (of course) the gluten free one whilst Minélle took the "normal" one. Then we got the pizza, we found that both pizzas looked the same and I asked, if they are sure, that I got the right one. Well, the waiter wasn't sure and asked the chief. They found out, that both pizzas where gluten free and that was the reason why they looked the same.
Although we'd decided to take the "wrong" gluten free pizza, the waiter served us a new one some minutes later. That's service!
By the way, this day I shot one of my best pictures of South Africa:
After three hours we gave up, ordered a pizza at Primi Piattis. After that, there was nearly no time left, as I was going to meet Michael from Berlin. We wanted to watch the soccer game "Germany versus England" at the Irish pub, whilst Israel was planning to meet Daniela. So we split up. While I was waiting, I remembered the restaurant, Monique showed me in the first week. I got a reservation for Friday at once. Sometimes it can be quite simple to find, what you want, if you think before.
Getting some tickets for a harbour sunset boat trip was more easy. I just went to the harbour, found a dealer and got the tickets in less than ten minutes. I'd invited Minélle to join me at this trip and the only thing, which was left, was sending her the time of departure.
