Today we, Minélle and I, went to Ikea. Ikea is in Brooklyn and the trip is quite some minutes. But we figured out that there is a Ikea boat shuttle from the Manhattan shore available. Starting at Pier 11, we were able to enjoy a small boat trip. For the trip back, however, we needed to fight our way through Ikea, it’s restaurant and the delivery and packaging procedure.
Heute sind wir, Minélle und ich, nach Ikea gefahren. Ikea befindet sich in Brooklyn, was mit der U-Bahn durchaus ein paar Minuten Anreise ist.
Deshalb haben wir die auch gar nicht erst genommen. Stattdessen haben wir ein kostenloses Boot-Shuttle gefunden, das uns direkt auf den Ikeaparkplatz brachte.

No, it’s no joke. In February I booked some tickets for the annual coeliac conference in Los Angeles. What I didn’t know at that time was that we will stay in the Hilton hotel next to the Universal Studios. On Friday we traveled to Los Angeles … via Fort Lauderdale (Florida)… the stupid Los Angeles Airport which has no tourist information … and a crazy ‘Super Shuttle’ to the hotel. On Saturday the conference took place, including a food fair … more than 50 producers with a wide variety of snacks, soups, breads, loads of crackers and cereal bars. Sunday we used the chance to see the Walk of Fame and had a ‘bus tour’ through the city. Well, this one accidentally happened in a small private car with a crazy guide who hoped to show us as much prom houses as possible.
Ja das stimmt. Wir waren auf einer Zöliakekonferenz in Los Angeles, im Hilton Hollywood Hotel. Das Hotel war gleich neben den Universal Studios. Am Freitag reisten wir an … mit Zwischenstopp und Umstieg in Ford Lauderdatel (Florida). Am Samstag fand fand dann die Konferenz statt und am Sonntag hatten wir noch etwas Zeit um uns den Walk Of Fame und das Hollywood-Zeichen anzusehen. Nicht vergessen zu erwähnen sollte ich den verrückten Reiseführer und Busfahrer, der uns umbedingt die Häuser der dort lebenden (beziehungsweise inzwischen toten) Prominenten zeigen wollte.
